As part of my nascent “Places of Future Historic Relevance Project,” I commemorate places of significant personal inspiration and productivity with placards. The effort underscores the importance of honoring one’s creative process (which I encourage all to do — this one is in my favorite wine bar) and serves as a placeholder — in time and space — for future historians…to ponder who the hell I was and what the hell I wrote.
