Poet Archibald MacLeish wrote “The business of the law is to make sense of the confusion of what we call human life—to reduce it to order but at the same time to give it possibility, scope, even dignity.” Well, he didn’t write Ginsberg’s Howl. On this special edition of the Daedalus Howell Show – in honor of America’s Independence Day and the drunken barbecue debauch I’ll be attending shortly – we will consider the law as expressed in at least a few ways in our society.
