Q. How do you pronounce your name?
A. DAY-duh-les Howl
Q. Is “Daedalus” your real name?
A. Yes. It is my legal name, nicked by my parents from author James Joyce’s character “Stephen Dedalus” (A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Ulysses). I spell it the anglicized way, not the Greek way, which looks like a cartoon expletive: Δαίδαλος
Q. When and where were you born?
A. July 19, 1972, in Santa Rosa, CA, though I usually say Petaluma. I’m presently 100 years old.
Q. Do you collaborate with other artists?
A. Yes, I collaborate with various artists, particularly conceptual artist, writer, and film producer Kary Hess to whom I am also married. Our works together include the films Pill Head and Werewolf Serenade and the conceptual works Le Drama Clüb and Stairwell Video among others.
Q. Will you read my screenplay, novel, pitch, epic poetry cycle, etc.?
A. Sorry, but we only develop material in-house.
