The Law

We use them, abuse them, make them and break them — today we’re talking about Laws. Poet Archibald MacLeish wrote “The business of the law is to make sense of the confusion of what we call human life—to reduce it to order but at the same time to give it possibility, scope, even dignity.” Well, he didn’t write Ginsberg’s Howl. On this special edition of the Daedalus Howell Show – in honor of America’s Independence Day and the drunken barbecue debauch I’ll be attending shortly – we will consider the law as expressed in at least a few ways in our society. Joining us is Supervisor James Warner, a 20 year veteran of the Las Vegas police force and author of 101 Reasons Why You Should Not Become a Cop; attorney Rosaclaire Baissinger will help sort my intellectual property issues; Nick T. Spark, author of A History of Murphy’s Law, explains why whatever can go wrong will; and writer Kelly Kreglow riffs on in-laws.
